Once again downtown Chapel Hill will be the focal point of the Halloween festivities. Last year we observed a reduction in crowd size from previous years. This year’s goal is to once again reduce the size of the crowd that last year was estimated at 45,000.
No vehicular traffic will be allowed in the closed area once the streets are closed. There will also be limited access to the residential areas immediately around the Central Business District.
The closed area will be larger in order to accommodate the size of the crowd. The closed area will be:
- Franklin Street from Raleigh Street to Roberson Street
- Columbia Street from Cameron Avenue to Rosemary Street
- Raleigh Street from Cameron Avenue to East Franklin Street
